So, not much happened in the last two weeks. My intention was to see if I could do at least minimal writing and posting while away from home.
I couldn’t.
Popular wisdom says this is why you have to have a buffer of episodes written when you start posting a serial because readers respond well to regular scheduling. But I have found that popular wisdom only tracks not necessarily because it is wisdom but because it is popular.
And popular means a belief held by many, not necessarily a correct belief.
No, I don’t have evidence to the contrary. But getting back into writing and posting episodes on Run Toward Ruin I started this morning by having a look at my stats on Royal Road.

If there are some stats missing you would expect, then the number is ZERO.
So, despite not posting an episode in two weeks my view count has still increased. I cannot determine however if anybody has read through to the last episode, though that has 10 views. For instance, Episode 5 has 21 views and Episode 6 has 25.
So, some views are random and I have no idea if a view is an actual read because that is not data Royal Road gives.
The next episode of Run Toward Ruin (Chapter 9) will be posted on the first of September and from then on posting should be regular for every Tuesday and Thursday until the end of the serial novel.
