There was a simpler time

Today I nearly broke down. Then I broke down and now I’m sanding off the edges.

I finally have the print version of my novel When Oceans Dream in existence as a print publication. For reasons it took time but it in August I managed my local printing for advance and promotional copies and mid September I got it uploaded onto Amazon. My official publication date is 30 September 2026.

When Oceans Dream paperback copies in box from printers

I nearly broke down when I tried today to upload it for print using Draft 2 Digital. It is supposed to be the user friendly for dummies way of getting a print book into global distribution. It isn’t because I could not get it done.

My files don’t work on their system and what they do with what works irritate me. I won’t do it. There is a point where things are made so simple that it breaks any sensible level of control. Draft 2 Digital print does that for me.

I still have my books as ebook distributed wide through them but for the moment that is it.

If you want a copy of my book and you are not in South Africa then you can find it here: Link to Amazon.com.

If you don’t use Amazon.com then search on whatever Amazon site you use. You can’t expect me to do everything for you. And if you don’t use Amazon then I am afraid you cannot get my print book globally.

You can buy it direct from me if you are in South Africa. Well, kind of direct because I am using BobShop as my fulfilment system. The links to those is either on my author site or my publisher site.

Unfortunately I don’t have those set up quite yet because I am sanding off the edges. Meaning I am devolving my indie writing and publishing endeavours to the most basic and essential parts to keep it alive.

Some things, like having too many tabs open, or having a basket of laundry to fold, can drain your energy and make life heavy and sticky and a drag to deal with.

I’m too old for this kind of drag on my system.
